If I had not saved these as low resolution, "For The Web", you would have been able to see each thread of fabric in the lettering (high res. of 300 for saving first PhotoShop file from the scanned TIFF format).

If your completed lettering will not be having a lot or contrast with your intended background, add a border. See the bordered scanned-fabric lettering below.
